MLS Power Rankings - Week 1

Posted on: March 9, 2013 3:13 pm

Okay, so here's the quick version. The MLS Power Rankings are back. I don't do preseason polls because then I'd have probably ranked Chicago in the top 10 instead of where they are after one week, the basement. These rankings reflect the week to week success of teams in MLS but is not strictly based on wins and losses. My idle NE Revs have been handicapped based on last season, everyone else's ranked on 2013 preformance alone.

Full entries will have a little more analysis but when I'm pressed for time, you pretty much just get the rankings like this. Besides putting the postseason projected Fire on the bottom, I don't think anything here is all that suprising but feel free to comment about your team below.

1. LA Galaxy – W 4-0 vs. FIRE / 1W-0L-0D, 3pts, 1st West

MLS Power Rankings - Week 1

Philly should be moving up in the rankings this week after a good rebound from the first game. I watched the game at the stadium and great to see Le Toux's first goal back on the Union (he will always be the heart and soul of the Union) but the second half was forgettable. Second game they played better and Jack Mac got the game winner, hopefully this will be the start of a winning streak and a return to the playoffs this season. Long live the U!
